The Finnish Bar Association
Kuva: Nina KaverinenThe Finnish Bar Association is an organization whose activity is regulated by the Advocates Act of 1958. The organization was preceded by a registered association dating to back 1919.

 

The Bar Association has about 1,900 members who are thus known as advocates (in Finnish: asianajaja; in Swedish: advokat). Law firms additionally employ some 600 associates. Approximately 130 of the Association’s members are employed by public legal aid offices.
